Volunteers are a vital part of our mission. Volunteering with Habitat Southern Ocean County is a fun and rewarding way to give back, meet new people, learn new skills, and be a part of an amazing community of people making a difference. We are always looking for volunteers to assist with various duties that include working in on our build site, ReStore, or one one of our various committees. There are also opportunities to assist with fund raising, recruiting and front office tasks.
Before volunteering, all volunteers are required to sign a liability waiver. All volunteers under 18 must have their waiver signed by a parent or guardian. You may download a copy of the waiver in Word or PDF format here: Waiver - Word, Waiver - PDF.
Construction
Construction volunteers make a tangible difference with each and every day they help build and repair homes. No construction experience is necessary. Many first-time volunteers have never picked up a hammer! Build days are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 8:30 -1:00.

ReStore
Our ReStore supports our mission by providing valuable funding to our programs. It’s retail with a mission! No experience is necessary. Our staff will teach you what you need to know. ReStore hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 10-4 and Wednesday 10-7 but time commitments are flexible. The ReStore is also a great opportunity for community service volunteers.
