Habitat for Humanity of Southern Ocean County does not give away homes. Partner families purchase the home from Habitat through a no profit, no interest loan. Families are responsible for paying the real estate taxes and insurance on the home.

Willingness to Partner with Habitat
To qualify for home ownership, the prospective applicant must be willing to partner with Habitat by:
- Completing all Sweat Equity requirements by performing 300-500 hours of volunteer service including working on your own home.
- Participating in Habitat’s nurturing program which includes financial counseling, household management education, maintenance of home and homeowner’s association meetings.
